VIETNAM - JAPAN HUMAN RESOURCE COOPERATION CENTER (VJCC) – FOREIGN TRADE UNIVERSITY WELCOMES JAPANESE DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS KOMURA MASAHIRO AND THE JAPANESE DELEGATION TO VISIT HO CHI MINH CITY

On September 24, 2024, the Vietnam - Japan Human Resource Corporation Centre (VJCC-HCMC) of Foreign Trade University (FTU) was honored to welcome Mr. Komura Masahiro, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, as part of the Deputy Minister’s visit to Vietnam.

The delegation also included officials from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Mr. Nanao Eiichiro - Deputy Minister’s Secretary, Mr. Takimi Kazuyuki - South Asia Division Coordinator, Mr. Ogasawara Manabu - South Asia Division Specialist, as well as officials from the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, including Ms. Ogawa Eri - Consul, and assistant Ms. Ho Xuan Thien Thu.

Representing VJCC were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien - Director of VJCC, Dr. To Binh Minh - Director of VJCC-HCMC, Mr. Kemmotsu Hideki - JICA expert, Mr. Dang Bao Huan - Director of GreenSun Joint Stock Company and Vice President of the Keieijuku Entrepreneurs Association of Southern Vietnam, along with other Keieijuku entrepreneurs.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien, VJCC Director, warmly welcomed the Deputy Minister and the delegation, introducing the history and achievements of VJCC, particularly its contributions to the development of management human resources for over 1,000 Vietnamese businesses through training programs such as Keieijuku, CEO programs, as well as consulting and business networking activities.

Besides human resource development, since 2017, VJCC has been upgraded to the status of an institute, implementing high-quality undergraduate programs in International Business (JIB model) starting from the 2017-2018 academic year, and Digital Business (DB) starting from the 2022-2023 academic year, with approximately 400 students enrolled annually.

For the past 22 years, VJCC has maintained its position as an information hub, fostering connections between organizations, businesses, and scholars from both Vietnam and Japan, and hosting various cultural, educational, and business exchange events.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien expressed deep gratitude to the Japanese Government and related agencies for their continuous support for the VJCC project. Mr. Komura Masahiro also shared his interest in the Keieijuku Program, emphasizing the values it brings to Vietnamese business leaders and expressing his hopes for the development of the Keieijuku entrepreneurial community in Vietnam.

As part of the visit, Deputy Minister Komura Masahiro and the delegation attended a class session of Keieijuku’s 20th cohort in Ho Chi Minh City, where they observed the hands-on learning model for entrepreneurs.

The Deputy Minister and the delegation concluded the visit, bidding farewell with a spirit of friendly cooperation between Japan and Vietnam.
