On August 23, 2025, Foreign Trade University (FTU) hosted the 6th International Conference on Japanese Studies and Japanese Language Education under the theme “The Appeal and Potential of the Japanese Language for Future Generations”. The conference was organized by the Association for Japanese Language Education and Research in Vietnam (AJEV), under the Linguistics Society of Vietnam, in collaboration with Foreign Trade University. The event was held with the permission of relevant authorities and under the auspices and support of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, and the Shoyu Club, with enthusiastic participation from universities and academic institutions both in Vietnam and abroad.
Serving as a multidisciplinary academic forum, the conference focused on discussions surrounding career opportunities and Vietnam – Japan cooperation, innovations in Japanese language teaching, and the promotion of cultural exchange between the two countries. The event aimed to share experiences, update modern teaching methodologies and technology applications, and foster educational and cultural exchange, thereby improving the quality of Japanese-language human resources. It also highlighted the appeal and potential of the Japanese language when taught in connection with Japan’s unique cultural characteristics and values, especially in the context of integrating artificial intelligence tools into language education. The conference welcomed distinguished guests including representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, the Shoyu Club, the leadership of Foreign Trade University, and over 200 participants representing universities and students with an interest in Japanese language and culture.
