On August 28, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien – Vice President of FTU – chaired a meeting with a delegation from the University of the West of England (UWE) led by Ms. Jo Midgley – Vice President of UWE.
Representing FTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thuy Ngoc – Dean of the School of International Education; and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dat – Deputy Dean of the School of International Education.
Representing UWE were Ms. Jo Midgley – Vice President; Ms. Hoang Lan Hoa – Manager for Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
The School of International Education at FTU and UWE have built a strong partnership through their collaboration on two joint programs: the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and the Master of Laws (LLM). This partnership not only provides students access to high-quality international legal education but also contributes to the development of the legal sector in Vietnam.
During the meeting, leaders of both universities discussed developing a Ph.D. in Law program and other initiatives such as co-research and co-supervision.
UWE expressed its desire to invite FTU faculty to participate in international seminars to enhance academic exchange and experience-sharing.
FTU requested UWE to send qualified professors to participate in the "Visiting Professors" program in Vietnam soon, contributing to enhancing the quality of teaching and cooperation between the two universities.
The meeting opened up numerous opportunities for deeper collaboration between the two universities.
