SCHOOL-LEVEL SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR "IMPLEMENTING INTERNATIONAL CAREER ORIENTATION PROGRAMS IN CONFORMITY WITH THE GOAL OF BECOME AN INNOVATIVE UNIVERSITY" OF CAMPUS II

On May 27, 2024, Campus II organized a School-level scientific workshop with the theme "Implementing international career orientation programs in line with the goal of becoming an innovative university".

This is an annual scientific activity of the school with the purpose of exchanging and sharing among experts, lecturers and researchers on solutions to effectively implement international career orientation programs in line with the goal of becoming an innovative university. The issues that the workshop focused on discussing included: The role of lecturers, staff and learners in international career orientation programs; Solutions to promote, develop and create opportunities for learners when participating in the programs; Teaching, learning and working experiences drawn and applied from domestic and foreign universities to meet program requirements; and Digital transformation, application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in program implementation.

Attending the workshop, on the side of Campus II were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Minh - Director of Campus II, representatives of the Department of Science Administration and International Affairs, management officers and lecturers from the Department of Foreign Languages, and other Divisions and Departments at Campus II. The workshop also attracted the participation of lecturers and scientists from universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Minh emphasized the importance of adapting to the development of society and the world of education. He also shared that international integration is mandatory and necessary; therefore, lecturers must make every effort to effectively apply science and technology to teaching and create conditions for students to develop in the best way suitable to the development of the world and international integration.

The main content of the seminar revolved around 6 presentations, presented in English and Vietnamese with topics such as: "Students' awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in a language course in higher education" by Ms. Le Thanh Ha; "Understanding anxiety in public speaking" by Ms. Vu Phuong Hong Ngoc; "Lecturers' reflections on challenges in teaching specialized English at Saigon University" by a group of authors from Saigon University; "Research on university students' attitudes towards online tests: the case at FTU" by Ms. Lam Thi My Dung and "Improving understanding of economic, legal and idiom terminology in specialized reading materials" by Ms. Tran Nam Thien Huong. At the end of the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Thuy - Senior Product Manager - Dai Truong Phat Education Group presented on the use of materials in teaching specialized English (ESP).

 

After the presentations, the lecturers and guests discussed issues related to teaching and scientific research related to the presentations. The discussion took place in a cheerful and open atmosphere, providing useful knowledge as well as valuable experiences for the lecturers and guests attending.
