On December 25, 2024, Foreign Trade University cooperated with Woosong University (Korea) to organize the Final Round of the "Global Marketing in Biomedical Field" Competition for the first time at the Hanoi Headquarters.
This is the result of the Cooperation Agreement signed between Foreign Trade University and Woosong University (Korea) during the working visit and the 70th anniversary celebration of Woosong University by the President of Foreign Trade University.
The competition aims to create a useful, attractive and practical playground for students who are passionate and interested in the field of biomedical marketing, especially creating international exchange opportunities for students majoring in Digital Marketing and Marketing Management of Foreign Trade University as well as cultivating more in-depth knowledge of marketing and business.
To prepare for the final round, Vietnamese and Korean students worked online for months, sharing ideas, researching, and developing plans. Before the final day, the teams had the opportunity to work directly, not only to complete the test but also to bond through lively discussions and memorable cultural experiences.
The competition is a playground for students passionate about medical research, biotechnology, and marketing to work together to develop breakthrough strategies, providing creative solutions to address prominent health problems: anxiety disorders, depression, domestic violence, cardiovascular disease, and alcoholism, bringing practical benefits to the community and improving the quality of life globally.
Attending the final round, on Woosong University's side, there were Prof. Song Jeasuk - Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences; Dr. Ha Thi Thu Trang - Department of International Relations.
On the side of Foreign Trade University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien - Vice President; Dr. Bui Lien Ha - Head of the Department of Political and Student Affairs; Dr. Nguyen Thi Viet Hoa – Vice Dean of the School of Economics and International Business; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dat – Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Education; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Binh - Head of the Division of Science and Technology Management, School of Economics and International Business; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Head of the Division of Marketing & Communication, School of Economics and International Business; along with teachers who are mentors, lecturers, judges and students.
The final round of the Competition had the participation of 20 students from both schools, including 10 Foreign Trade students and 10 Woosong students, from many different training majors, including biomedicine, pharmacy, marketing, communication, business, technology... This shows the diversity as well as the ability to combine interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary teams to carry out a business and marketing project for biomedical technology products. This is also a potential field in the Vietnamese market and has many new business opportunities.
Speaking at the final round, Dr. Nguyen Thi Viet Hoa – Vice Dean of the School of Economics and International Business affirmed that the competition has created opportunities for students to approach the field of digital marketing in the bio-health industry, especially promoting and commercializing digital therapies, aiming to promote innovative and effective solutions in the field of health care. She emphasized that the competition also marked the first collaboration between the two units, the School of Economics and International Business and the Faculty of International Business, which are the two focal units in organizing the competition. She also expressed her hope that this competition will mark a new milestone in cooperation between the two institutions and this will be a favorable start for organizing the annual competition between the two institutions in the following years. Finally, she expressed her sincere thanks to FTU, the leaders of the School of Economics and International Business and the Faculty of International Business for creating conditions for the successful organization of the competition.
After a period of fierce competition between teams with many creative and innovative ideas, demonstrating a serious working spirit, the jury has found the owners for each award of the competition, specifically:
• First Prize: Application for treating anxiety disorders.
• Second Prize: Application for treating alcohol addiction.
• Third Prize:
o Application for treating domestic violence - post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD);
o Application for treating cardiovascular diseases;
o Application for treating depression.
The final round has ended but the echoes still linger because of the impression of the breakthrough ideas and the spirit of international cooperation between students of the two schools in solving sustainable problems.
