On August 2, 2024, the Office of International Affairs at Foreign Trade University organized the "Orientation for International Exchange Students at FTU" session to welcome international students coming to study at FTU for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong – Vice President of FTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Dinh Kien – Director of International Affairs; Ms. Dao Thi Thu Ha – Deputy Director of International Affairs; specialists from the Office of International Affairs, representatives from the Study Abroad Club (SAC), Buddies who will support international students throughout their studies at FTU, and notably, 59 international students from countries such as France, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Japan, South Korea, and others who joined this semester’s exchange program.
In her speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong warmly welcomed the international students who chose to join the exchange program in Vietnam and specifically at FTU. She expressed her hope that they would have a meaningful time at FTU and in Vietnam.
The leadership of the Office of International Affairs also welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of international integration. Ms. Dao Thu Ha provided an overview of FTU and information related to academic and training matters at the university. With the support of the Office of International Affairs and student Buddies, she hoped that the students would quickly adapt to the academic and social environment in Vietnam.
Following the introductory session, international students listened to presentations by staff directly responsible for managing them, insights from previous exchange students, and FTU students, providing clear and detailed information on academic, regulatory, and student life issues at FTU. Afterwards, the international students were introduced to and connected with their Buddies.
Also as part of the orientation, SAC members and Buddies organized engaging games to energize the atmosphere and create more opportunities for international and Vietnamese students to connect and get closer to each other.
After the orientation, international students toured the campus, where they were introduced to facilities that would serve their studies. The orientation provided essential information to help international students quickly integrate into the academic and social environment at FTU and in Vietnam.
