From August 18 to September 1, 2024, FTU welcomed a group of international students participating in the International Summer Program (ISP), a short-term cultural exchange program, to study and engage in cultural activities through lectures and real-life experiences at FTU’s Hanoi campus.
At the opening ceremony on August 19, 2024, representatives of the Office of International Affairs warmly welcomed international students from Russia and Japan, hoping they would have a beneficial and exciting experience at FTU and in Vietnam, known for its beauty and hospitality. At the ceremony, international students were introduced to FTU’s key features and the study and exchange program planned for them.
Throughout the two-week program, participating students experienced a wide range of lectures, covering an introduction to Vietnam’s culture and people, an overview of the Vietnamese economy, in-depth knowledge on market research in Vietnam, foreign direct investment, the business environment, and Vietnam’s legal framework.
In addition to classroom learning, the international students had the opportunity to engage with Vietnamese culture through various activities, such as visits to businesses and tours of famous landmarks like the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Hoa Lu in Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay – a World Natural Heritage site known for its majestic and poetic beauty.
At the closing ceremony on August 30, 2024, the international students presented their final projects in groups, with engaging presentations in diverse formats.
In her concluding remarks, Ms. Dao Thi Thu Ha – Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs, expressed her joy at the achievements of the international students after this short-term program, thanking them for choosing FTU and Vietnam as their study, exchange, and cultural experience destination. She also expressed a desire to welcome even more international students in the future.
The international students expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Board of Directors, staff, faculty, and FTU students for their warm reception and the heartfelt support they received. Students noted that this trip was not only an opportunity to gain knowledge but also to understand Vietnamese culture and people more deeply. The dedicated support from FTU students, staff, faculty, and partnering businesses contributed significantly to the success of the cultural exchange.
With its rich and meaningful experiences, this trip will undoubtedly be a valuable foundation, helping the exchange students gain further insights into Vietnam’s culture, business environment, and daily life.
