SIGNING CEREMONY FOR STUDENT EXCHANGE AGREEMENT BETWEEN FOREIGN TRADE UNIVERSITY AND QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (QUT, AUSTRALIA)

On August 9, 2024, FTU and Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, held a signing ceremony for a student exchange agreement. This agreement marks an important step in expanding FTU's international partner network, allowing students the opportunity to study and experience a world-class educational environment in Australia. Notably, QUT will become FTU's sole partner in Australia within its student exchange partner network.

As one of Australia's leading universities, QUT is internationally recognized for its teaching and training quality, ranked among the top 200 universities globally (according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022) and within the top 21 young universities worldwide (according to the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2022).

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mark Harvey – QUT Vice President; Mr. Paul Bolt – Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Daniel Chin – Regional Director. Representatives from Duc Anh EduConnect included Ms. Lucy Hong Nham – CEO and Ms. Le Chi – Head of Business Development. Representing FTU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Hien – Head of the Department of Undergraduate Studies; Ms. Dao Thi Thu Ha – Deputy Director of International Affairs; Heads and Deputy Heads of several university units, along with faculty and staff members.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong opened the ceremony by welcoming the QUT delegation to FTU. Since the two institutions officially established their relationship through a framework cooperation agreement in June 2023, representatives from both sides have worked actively to maximize the potential cooperation between the two universities. The signing of the student exchange agreement is one of the first achievements from these exchanges. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong affirmed that the student exchange program between QUT and FTU would be a new step forward in the relationship between the two universities, opening up further deep and extensive cooperation opportunities in the future, bringing superior collaborative programs for FTU students. This event demonstrates FTU's commitment to enhancing educational quality and providing students with rich international experiences to develop comprehensively in a global learning environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, QUT's representative, Mr. Mark Harvey, also expressed appreciation for the positive and productive efforts of both institutions in organizing the signing ceremony. He agreed that the student exchange program marks the official start of collaborative activities between the two universities and will serve as a foundation for both sides to make further efforts in exchange activities to develop new cooperation models and programs.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong – Vice President of FTU, and Mr. Mark Harvey – Vice President of QUT, conducted the official signing of the student exchange agreement.

Also within the program's framework, representatives discussed additional innovative undergraduate collaboration models for students from the School of Business English and explored opportunities for cooperation between the two universities in postgraduate training.
