From March 3 to March 9, 2024, Foreign Trade University organized to welcome the student delegation of Ritsumeikan University (Japan) to participate in the Global Fieldwork Project 2024 coordinated by the two schools.
Ritsumeikan University student delegation led by Mr. Prabath Buddhika Kanduboda and 23 students from Ritsumeikan University.
Participating in the program, Ritsumeikan University students had the opportunity to approach and experience Vietnamese culture through useful field activities. The Global Reality Program was first jointly organized by the two schools in 2019 with the goal of creating opportunities for Ritsumeikan University students to study in Vietnam. Ritsumeikan University's student group had explored and visited Vietnam's scenic spots through a field trip to Ha Long Bay, or learned about food preservation and packaging processes through a visit to an export enterprise in Tam Diep, Ninh Binh. In addition, during field trips to interact with Hanoi people, Ritsumeikan University students had the opportunity to get closer to local people with the support of fellow students from Foreign Trade University, same program. Those experience gives students from both sides the opportunity to grasp the practical experiences of each country, contributing to improving understanding and close relationships between the two universities.
The program ended with the harvest summary session on the morning of March 8, 2024. Even though they only had nearly a week to study and work in groups, the students made every effort to perfect their ideas and present thorough, high-quality research papers that were highly appreciated by the jury.
Through this program, students of the two schools not only are able to not only learn and research experiences from the partner school but also make new international friends. Moreover, at the closing ceremony, Ritsumeikan University students were awarded gifts and certificates of course completion.
