On March 1, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Chairwoman of the University Council at Foreign Trade University, presided over a meeting with the delegation from Takushoku University (Japan).
Representing Takushoku University were Mr. Okado Takumi, Chairman of the University Council; Mr. Kawaguchi Takachi, Secretary General and Executive Director of the University Council; and Mr. Saeki Takao, Head of the International Cooperation Department.
On the side of Foreign Trade University, the delegation from Takushoku University was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Dinh Kien, Director of International Affairs; Dr. Do Ngoc Kien, Head of the Department of Economics and Management at the Institute of International Economics and Business, along with several other officials from various departments who also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, representatives from both universities shared information about their teaching fields, new majors, and opened up future cooperation opportunities. Mr. Okado Takumi mentioned that the two universities had signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2012 to outline common goals and purposes of cooperation. In this meeting, he emphasized the desire to delve deeper into specific cooperation objectives, particularly student exchange activities, joint language courses, and student competitions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy noted that the core values of the two universities have similarities and will certainly lead to many future cooperation opportunities. Specifically, regarding international cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Dinh Kien expressed strong support for Takushoku University's proposals and showed a willingness to discuss detailed cooperation plans in the future through the signing of Cooperation Agreements.
At the end of the meeting, representatives of the two universities exchanged commemorative gifts, marking the beginning of meaningful cooperation opportunities.
