On April 25 and 26, 2024, Foreign Trade University (FTU) successfully organized a short-term course for 268 students from the University of the Republic of Uruguay.

The program aims to provide Uruguayan students with opportunities to learn about Vietnamese culture and enhance their professional knowledge through exchanges on economics, investment, and business. FTU has designed this short-term course as an annual activity since 2013. In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Dinh Kien, Director of International Affairs, warmly welcomed and extended best wishes to the students and faculty from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. He emphasized that the short-term courses between the University of the Republic of Uruguay and FTU have significantly contributed to strengthening and deepening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Uruguay.

At the closing ceremony on April 26, 2024, the attendees from FTU included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Dinh Kien, Director of International Affairs; M.A. Nguyen Huyen Minh, Head of Department of Communication & Public Relations; M.A. Le Hoang Lien, Head of the General Administration Department; M.A. Dao Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Director of International Affairs; and various faculty members. The event was also attended by Mr. Duong Quoc Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina, concurrently to Uruguay and Paraguay, and Ms. Carina Peombo, a representative from the University of the Republic of Uruguay.

With the theme "Vietnam's Economic Development and Lessons for Regional Cooperation," the program over two days allowed Uruguayan students to explore and discuss various topics through lectures such as "Overview of Vietnamese Culture, Economy, and Society"; "Circular Economy: The Context in Asia and Vietnam"; "Promoting Entrepreneurship Towards a Prosperous Vietnam and a Thriving Asia"; and "ASEAN Regional Investment and Lessons for Vietnam."

During the two days of activities, in addition to lectures, students had the opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture, cuisine, and traditional games, making the program both educational and enjoyable.

We wish all Lao students at Foreign Trade University a New Year filled with joy, happiness, and success in their studies and lives.
