On December 15, 2023, the Office of International Affairs of Foreign Trade University, in collaboration with the Japi-Universal House Project Management Board, organized a session to introduce and instruct students on Flamenco dance.
This cultural exchange activity proved to be an interesting and beneficial experience amidst the backdrop of international integration and diverse cultural exploration.
Attending the program from Foreign Trade University were Ms. Dao Thi Thu Ha - Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs, along with other university officials, lecturers, and students. The introduction session was facilitated and led by Mr. Soler Camara Bernardo - the class instructor.
Flamenco is not only a cultural icon of Spain but also a multidimensional art form, combining three main elements: 'cante' - singing, 'baile' - dance, and 'guitarra' - guitar music accompaniment. With the dedicated guidance of Mr. Soler Camara Bernardo, students of Foreign Trade University immersed themselves in the lively atmosphere and engaged with the art of Flamenco.
Also during the working session, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien shared the long-term development strategy of VJCC approved by Foreign Trade University. She proposed some ideas to maintain, expand, and enhance the added value for JICA's support activities within the framework of the VJCC Project until 2025 and subsequent phases. This is done in the spirit of inheriting, promoting the resources of VJCC, continuously innovating, meeting new societal demands, and enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries.
The program provided an intriguing cultural experience, enabling Foreign Trade University students to gain a deeper understanding of the culture and history of a traditional dance, alongside their Spanish language lessons. Given the increasing importance of multiculturalism and international exchange, exposing Foreign Trade University students to a new dance style like Flamenco not only broadens their personal knowledge but also helps them become confident and globally aware citizens with a solid understanding of Spanish culture when interacting with international friends.
During the working session with Rikkyo University, the VJCC leadership discussed in detail with the Business School professors about the detailed plan for organizing the 4th International Conference on Vietnam-Japan International Business (VJIBC) on March 27 and 28, 2024, at Rikkyo University (Japan). The theme of the conference, "Creating Sustainable Value for Global Prosperity: From the Multidisciplinary Perspectives," is expected to receive submissions by January 15, 2024.
