After six months of competition and four rigorous rounds, the finals of the Social Business Creation (SBC) 2024 took place on October 2, 2024 (local time: October 1) at HEC Montréal Business School, Canada. Out of 106 projects, 417 participants, and 28 countries, Vietnamese teams, particularly those from Foreign Trade University, achieved outstanding results.
The Galaxy Biotech project, led by founder Ms. Do Diem Chau and team leader Do Tuan Anh – a K61 student in International Business – won first place, earning a prize of 30,500 CAD. The project team included six FTU students and three advisors: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ly Nguyen Ngoc and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran nguyen Chat from FTU, and Dr. Tran Xuan Linh from Greenwich Vietnam. Galaxy Biotech’s product, “Breathing Bags”, addresses plastic waste and food preservation issues using advanced nano technology.
Additionally, the Fuwa and Sokfarm projects – both involving FTU students – secured second and third places globally. Several other accolades were awarded to FTU participants, including Audience Choice Award and Credo Impact's Prize.
Six young Vietnamese individuals were honored as Outstanding Global Entrepreneurs, including two FTU students: Nguyen Thu Thuy (Faculty of Banking and Finance) and Le Gia Bao (Faculty of Business Administration). Various advisors and judges from Vietnam also received prestigious awards for their contributions.
This success reflects the creativity and ambition of young Vietnamese talents, reaffirming their readiness to innovate and contribute to sustainable development globally.
