On December 1, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy, President of the University Council at Foreign Trade University, presided over a meeting with the Leadership Team of Mabuchi International Scholarship Fund.

The Mabuchi International Scholarship Fund - FTU is a financial support program aimed at alleviating the burden of tuition fees and creating favorable conditions for students to access quality education. The Mabuchi Scholarship Fund helps Vietnamese students overcome financial concerns with interest-free "loans" from the Mabuchi International Scholarship Foundation (MISF). Foreign Trade University is dedicated to illuminating dreams and accompanying students on the journey to build their future. According to the statistics from the Financial Planning Department, a total of 241 students from the university have received this scholarship. Each student receives 1.5 million VND per month, equivalent to 15 million VND per year. Ninety-seven students have completed 100% repayment. The repayment rate is also high, ensuring a source of "capital return" to provide scholarships for students in subsequent courses.

The delegation from the Mabuchi International Scholarship Fund included Mr. Kamei Shinji - President of the Mabuchi International Scholarship Fund (MISF), Mr. Naito Manabu - Head of Foreign Projects, and Ms. Mabuchi Takako - Advisor.

Receiving the delegation, Foreign Trade University was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - President of the University Council, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Head of the Financial Planning Department, Dr. Vu Thi Kim Ngan - Deputy Head of the Financial Planning Department, and other university specialists.

During the meeting, university leaders warmly welcomed the Mabuchi International Scholarship Fund delegation. The university provided a detailed report on the implementation of the Mabuchi Scholarship at Foreign Trade University. Subsequently, both parties exchanged views and discussed the implementation of the FTU-Mabuchi International Scholarship Fund in the upcoming period and issues within the signed contract.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Kamei Shinji - President of MISF emphasized the purpose and significance of the scholarship fund in nurturing the dreams of students with difficult circumstances. Mr. Kamei Shinji expressed the desire to maintain and develop this scholarship fund to continue supporting the educational dreams of students facing challenges at Foreign Trade University. He also expected both parties to maintain cooperation to jointly nurture talents in service of the nation and community.

Detailed information about the FTU-Mabuchi Scholarship Program:

- Purpose of the scholarship loan: Covering university tuition fees and living expenses for students.
- Sponsor of the FTU-Mabuchi Scholarship Fund: Mabuchi International Scholarship Foundation (Japan).
- Target audience: Undergraduate students at Foreign Trade University with difficult circumstances.
- Scholarship loan amount: 1,500,000 VND/student/month for 4 academic years (10 months/year), totaling 60 million VND for 4 years.
- Interest rate: 0% during the repayment period.
- Repayment period: After 3 months from graduation, gradually repaid over 48 months (if exceeding the 48-month period after graduation, the remaining loan amount will incur a 15% interest rate). Early repayment is possible.
