The competition was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of Foreign Trade University (FTU).
The Mastermind is the first and only social knowledge competition in English language in Hanoi with a very attractive and new format which is organized by the English Club, one of the four most active and effective clubs of FTU.
With this year's theme: EU-Brexit - the "hot" political issue on European politics in recent times about the UK leaving the EU, Mastermind aims to attract young people's interest in global issues in the context of the integration of the country.
After three rounds of the competition, four best pairs of contestants have participated in the final round - in the presence of Mr. Giles Lever - the British Ambassador in Vietnam.

The winner pair who achieved 30% tuition reduction scholarship of the University of Northampton was The Nerd team composed of 2 members: Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhat Minh who won the "Honorable Mention" from the NATO Council of Vietnamese Youth Model United Nations (VYMUN) 2017 and was currently a member of the Science Research Club of FTU and Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang who currently holded the position of Head of Study Abroad Club of FTU.
With intelligence, agility and firmness, The Nerd team has had a surprise comeback in the second test of the Final and then performed extremely excellent in the final debate, thereby convinced the jury to award the champion.
The second prize of the Mastermind 2017 belonged to L & Q team. They have left the impression with very high scores in the boot section thanks to their deep knowledge about the EU and Brexit. In addition, two members of the team own a Youtube channel to share their political knowledge.
The two teams who also won the third prize were M&M và Luce team. Although the Mastermind Competition was held for the first time, but it was a great success and won the hearts of many audiences. It was not only a good playground for students, the Mastermind has also contributed to remove negative prejudice about the youth as "indifferent to political issues".
