On the side of FTU, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President cum Head of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Pham Thu Huong - Head of the Department of Undergraduate Training Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tang Van Nghia - Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan - Deputy Head of Political and Student Affairs, Dr. Phung Duy Quang - Dean of the Basic Sciences Faculty, teachers of the faculty, students who won the competition and many students who have interest in mathematics.

On the side of sponsors, there was Mr. Nguyen Nhat Lam - Director of Phong Van Trading Company, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat - Director of Manfusi Vietnam Company.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of FTU confirmed the activities of the students in the intellectual playground were always cared by FTU and we provided support to them to develop their capacity and creativity. At the National Student Mathematics Olympiad, students of FTU often get high achievements. In addition, Foreign Trade University always holds the top 5 in about 80 universities and colleges that taking this exam. With this meaning and importance, this year, the Mathematical Olympiad 2018 aims to select a team of FTU to take part in the National Mathematical Olympiad. Therefore, the Mathematical Olympiad 2018 of Basic Sciences Faculty has been raised to become the Mathematical Olympiad at University Level 2018. These results shows the interest of FTU as well as teachers towards the passion with mathematics of students of FTU.

The number of students that attended this year's competition were pretty high: 167 students who enrolled in both Algebra and Mathematical Analysis. The Organizing Committee have worked seriously and urgently to select 121 winning students. There was 69 official awards including: 10 first prizes (5 first prize in Algebra and 5 first prize in Mathematical Analysis), 20 second prizes (13 second prize in Algebra and 7 second prize in Mathematical Analysis), 40 third prizes (26 second prize in Algebra and 14 second prize in Mathematical Analysis). The winners receive a Certificate of Merit and awards from the President of FTU.
