This is the first Doctoral Training program which was deployed at FTU for countries of the greater Mekong subregion. Although the new program has just been implemented, but it has attracted the attention of the learners because of the quality of the training program, the passion and enthusiasm of the lecturers and the support of the administrative staffs.

From Foreign Trade University, there were the presence of: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Tang Van Nghia - Dean of Postgraduate and teachers of FTU.
This is a new program of FTU which was built on the basis of the learners demand. It also expresses the will, expectation and capability of the Foreign Trade University with the aim of becoming a qualitative and prestigious training center in Southeast Asia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President of FTU gave a speech to congratulate students who overcome initial difficulties to become the doctoral students on the first course. He said that this was a great opportunity for the graduate students to study and research. In addition, he also pointed out the difficulties that PhD students would face such as balancing time to study and work, language barrier. He emphasized the difficulty of approach, methodology and study. Therefore, he recommended each graduate student should prepare a long-term study plan, solutions to overcome their own difficulties. On behalf of FTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President of FTU committed to support graduate students in all areas so that PhD students could complete this training program.
At the ceremony, Mr. Amphavanh Kouangmanivanh - Counsellor of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs - Lao Embassy in Vietnam also congratulated the students of the program and hoped that the program would be developed and expanded further to other countries in the region.
