Attending the ceremony, there were the presence of Mr. Back Un Sung - CEO of Lotte Scholarship Foundation with teachers and 76 excellent students from 8 universities across Hanoi including: Foreign Trade University, Vietnam National University - Hanoi, Vietnam National University, Hanoi University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Civil Engineering University, National Economics University, Academy of Finance, Thang Long University.

Lotte Foundation is the scholarship fund established by the Chairman of the Lotte Group, Shin Kyuk Ho, in 1983 to support students who face difficult circumstances. He expects the scholarship will contribute to easing the financial pressure on students and encourage them to concentrate on their studies.In the more than 30 years since its inception the fund has presented scholarships worth $38 million to 33,000 students in different countries around the world. In Vietnam the Lotte Foundation has presented scholarships to students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City worth a total of $55,000 each year in two terms since 2008.

Every year, 36 outstanding students of the Foreign Trade University were honored to receive this scholarship with each session was 18 students.

“It is a great honor for me to be Lotte’s representative and send our warmest congratulations to the 76 excellent students who received the scholarships today,” said Mr. Lee Jung Youl, General Director of Lotte Hotel Hanoi. “Please do not stop and be satisfied with the success you have achieved. I hope you will continue to do your best and become talent for Vietnam. Lotte always welcomes talent such as yourselves.”

The operation of awarded scholarships annually is one of the symbols of good friendship between Korea and Vietnam, and expressed interest in contributing to community activities and social responsibility of Lotte Group in Vietnam.
