The Opening Ceremony for Training of Trainers on Entrepreneurship and Innovation

On October 20th 2017, the Vietnam-Finland Innovation Partnership Program (IPP2) which was cooperated with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Foreign Trade University (FTU) officially opened the Training Course for Training of Trainers (Tot2) on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Start-up for 32 lecturers from 13 universities at HUST.

The ceremony was honor to welcome Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong - Director and Assistant of the Minister of Science and Technology cum Director of IPP2 program. From HUST, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khang - Vice President. On the side of FTU, there was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Ha - Deputy Director of FTU Innovation and Incubation Space (FIIS) together with 4 lecturers of FTU.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice President of FTU expressed her pleasure that the ToT2 training course would help to train innovative trainers in innovation for the university. The training courses were conducted on the basis of curriculum framework on innovation and start-up which were developed by IPP2 as well as a number of related programs implemented in Finland and the United States with a focus on the knowledge, skills and tools about start-up innovation and teaching methods of innovation and start-up. These training courses have contributed significantly to the start-up and innovation ecology of Vietnam by providing high quality consultants and trainers, contributing to the renovation of thinking, creating and spreading the culture of innovation in Vietnam.

The Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Foreign Trade University (FTU) were two of the first partners that have been selected by IPP2 to transfer knowledge related to the implementation process of ToT1 and ToT2, consult the training program design and grant certification of "Organizer of training on innovation and start-up".

The ToT2 course consists of 8 days of intensive training (Bootcamp), of which 5 days are taken at the BK-Holdings company (under HUST) and 3 days at FIIS (belonging to FTU). After Bootcamp, the participants will participate in practical activitie from the end of October 2017 to the end of December 2017.

The training courses are taught by three international trainers with many years of experiences in teaching and consulting on innovation and start-ups in many countries around the world. In addition, during eight days of Bootcamp, many guest speakers were startup entrepreneurs, investors, builder experts of ecological startup,... to share experiences and discuss with practitioners.

After graduating from ToT2 Hanoi course, students will develop and implement training programs on innovation and startup for their own schools in various forms in accordance with the orientation and conditions of each school. They will be the important nucleus to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the Vietnamese eco-business.
