The ceremony involved the international programs in cooperation with University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, Niels Brock Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, Aomori Chuo Gakuin University, Japan, Nanhua University and Meiho University, Taiwan, Minot State University, Portland State University, Angelo State University, United States and University of New Brunswick, Canada.

            The Opening Ceremony was solemnly held on the 3^rd October 2017. Foreign Trade University honorably welcomed Mr. Morten Pristed - Education Counselor, Embassy of Denmark; Ms. Molly Stephenson - The Counselor for Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy; Mr. Lee Ming - Senior Advisor of Education Division TECO Office; Ms. Yoko Anazawa - Head of Press and Culture Department, Japanese Embassy; Ms. Anya Eskildsen – President of Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College, Denmark; Mr. Ashraf Jawaid - Deputy  Vice Chancellor University of Bedfordshire, UK; Mr. Wu Wann Yi - Vice President of Nanhua University, Taiwan; Mr. Daniel Coleman- Vice President University of New Brunswick, Canada; Mr. Won - Jae Lee - Vice President of Angelo State University, US; Mr. Hsiao - Tseng Lin - Dean of Office of International and  Cross - Strait Affairs, Taiwan; Mr. Ishida Sohei - Head of Planning Department Aomori Chuo Gakuin University, Japan; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Kim- President of Nguyen Hue High School . From Foreign Trade University, we had Assoc. Prof. Dr Bui Anh Tuan – President of Foreign Trade University; Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of FTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Thu Thuy - Vice President of FTU; Assoc. Prof. Dr Ho Thuy Ngoc – Dean of Faculty of International Education and the new students of joint training programs. The participation of honored guests including representatives from the Embassies, Presidents and Vice Presidents of the partner universities was the pleasure of Foreign Trade University and the great encouragement for the new students.

            This year, Foreign Trade University welcomes 440 new students from joint training programs involving Bachelor of Business Studies cooperated with University of Bedfordshire (UK), Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance cooperated with Niels Brock Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Bachelor of Law-Economics cooperated with Aomori Chuo Gakuin University (Japan), Bachelor program cooperated with Minot State University, Portland State University, Angelo State University (US) , New Brunswick University (Canada), and Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality and Tourism cooperated with Nanhua University and Meiho University (Taiwan).

In the Ceremony, the excellent students were awarded so that they got encouraged and other students could consider them as good reflection to learn from.

            Representatives from partner universities also cheered the students by granting them different scholarship funds within the Ceremony.

            Furthermore, the Executive Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Hanoi awarded the merit to the students, which aimed to boost the students’ learning spirit as well as their dynamic attitudes towards extracurricular activities within the university. This helps the students to not only widen their knowledge but also develops their soft skills during their time in Foreign Trade University.
