1. Program introduction
The Master of International Trade Policy and Law program with application orientation taught in English (MITPL_A) was established in 2012, inheriting from a similar program from University of Bern (Switzerland). This program offers a comprehensive blend of specialized knowledge in law and international economics with particular focus on international trade policies. It has been highly appreciated by employers for the competence in knowledge, skills, autonomy and responsibility at workplace. Currently, the program is recognized as a well-structured training program related to international trade policy and law and has gained trust from students, employers, and the society in general. MITPL_A program equips students with knowledge related to practical aspects of policies, economics, and legal matters of international trade, based on the foundation of international economics. The program is clearly application-oriented with a strong emphasis on the adoption of accumulated knowledge in specific relevant contexts. Moreover, the program provides students with essential skills to work independently and creatively and enables them to identify, explain and analyze specific issues in international trade from both economic and legal perspectives. Since the program is taught in English, it offers students a modern specialized language to utilize in fields related to international trade policy and law. Upon completion of this program, students are capable of working in government agencies at ministerial/industrial levels, as well as in enterprises.

4. Program objectives
4.1 General objectives
The Master of International Trade Policy and Law program with application orientation (MITPL_A) aims to produce high-quality human resources with full political qualities, ethics, high sense of accountability and professional competence in the field of international trade policy and law, based on the foundation of international economics in order to assume positions as a consultant, analyst, or manager in the field of international trade policy and law within ministries, departments, businesses banks, and investment funds. The program is designed to ensure that graduates have the ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve international trade policy and law issues in a flexible, reasonable and innovative manner. Graduates will master the essential knowledge and skills needed to work independently and effectively in an entirely English-working environment. The program also provides graduates with the skills to guide and lead in group tasks or specific projects, make decisions and solve real-time problems regarding international trade policy and law and other related fields.
4.2 Specific objectives
PO1. Training experts in consulting, analyzing or managers in the application of international trade policy and law within ministries, departments, businesses, banks, and investment funds;
PO2. Equipping students with the knowledge of international trade based on the foundation of international economics, fundamental principles of law in economics and international trade (especially public international law); scientific basis for international trade policy planning; foundational knowledge to assess and forecast the development trends of international trade and investment in the context of global economic integration;
PO3. Equipping students with the knowledge to analyze, advise on planning, and apply policies and regulations of international trade law, providing methodologies and modern approaches to solve issues in international trade; analyzing and advising on disputes in the implementation of international trade policies of countries within the framework of the WTO and partner agreements, new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs);
PO4. Developing analytical, argumentative, and problem-solving skills for students in the application of international trade policy and law; leadership, presentation, and teamwork skills; proficiency in using English for specific purposes, electronic tools, and work-supporting softwares;
PO5. Equipping students with a dedicated work ethic, ethical and professional responsibility, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity to cultural, political, and institutional aspects;
PO6. Equipping students with the ability to analyze, identify issues, and propose solutions in the application and implementation of international trade policy and la based on the analysis from both legal and international economic perspectives to ensure reaching the motto Leading by differentiation;
5. Program learning outcomes
5.1. Knowledge
PLO1: Proactively applying the foundational knowledge of political science, social science, methodology, scientific perspectives, information technology, and generic knowledge in the field of international economics for life-long learning, experience-accumulating, and working;
PLO2: Applying theories of international economics and principles of international trade law in particular situations or projects;
PLO3: Assessing practical experience to apply policies and laws related to international trade within the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and new generation trade agreements based on the foundation of international economics;
PLO4: Analyzing the trends in the development of international trade in the context of global economic integration;
5.2. Skill
PLO5: Having the skills to synthesize, analyze, identify, and propose solutions to complex
issues in the field of international trade policy and law based on the foundation of international economics;
PLO6: Having the skills to interpret and present solutions to specific situations arising in the implementation of international trade policy and law clearly; having the skills to make
presentation and work collaboratively in a team with critical thinking;
PLO7: Having proficient communication skills in English at a level equivalent to 4/6 or
higher according to the Vietnam Standardized Test of English Proficiency (Pursuant to Circular No.01/2014/TT-BDGÐT) and English for specific purposes in the field of international trade policy and law;
PLO8: Having advanced skills in using office information technology (Pursuant to Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT);
5.3. Autonomy and responsibility
PLO9: Having the ability to proactively plan, implement, assess, and improve the effectiveness of activities including self-directed learning, accumulating knowledge and experience to enhance professional expertise and competence in the application and enforcement of international trade policies and laws;
