On December 27, 2023, Foreign Trade University organized the Summary Ceremony for the academic year 2022-2023 and the Directional Plan for the academic year 2023-2024 for Lao exchange students.

In attendance from Foreign Trade University were Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Vu Thi Hien – Head of the Undergraduate Study Department; Dr. Bui Lien Ha – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department; Heads/Deputies of several units within the university, officers, faculty members, and Lao students currently studying at the university.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Thu Huong shared insights into the 48-year academic journey of Lao students at the university. The number of Lao students at the university has significantly increased. Especially in the academic year 2022 - 2023, the university welcomed 27 Lao students, including 01 Master's student and 26 undergraduate students. Lao students actively participated not only in cultural exchange activities but also diversified the learning environment, contributing to strengthening the friendly relations between Vietnam and Laos.

During the program, Phonemany Savanh - Head of the Lao Student Exchange Delegation, presented details of the outstanding achievements of Lao students and expressed gratitude to Foreign Trade University for providing conditions and a quality training environment. Some notable extracurricular achievements of Lao exchange students include: First Prize in the "Sweet Tet, Fragrant Tet" contest to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2023; First Prize in the "To be an Entrepreneur" business camp and a promising performance award in the Miracles in December 2023 program; Participation in the badminton club and winning the Men's Singles FTU Olympic 2023, Third Prize in Men's Singles TAM Club, and Third Prize in Men's Doubles in the internal badminton club tournament FTU,... Every month, all Lao exchange students at the university hold meetings together to discuss extracurricular activities and study together. From this, they have gained experience, lessons, and unanimously agreed on opinions and directions to solve arising issues.

Also within the framework of the program, the university's leadership represented by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Thu Huong awarded prizes to 05 outstanding Lao students in academics and extracurricular activities, providing strong motivation for the Lao student community at Foreign Trade University.

The ceremony ended in an enthusiastic and uplifting atmosphere, leaving great expectations for the new academic year. It is hoped that these achievements will open doors for future generations of Lao students, enriching the learning atmosphere and cultural exchange spirit at Foreign Trade University.
