Graduation ceremony of the Advanced program in International Business Management K50 (Course 2)
21 Aug 2015The Graduation ceremony of the Advanced program in International Business Management K50 (Course 2) took place in a solemn atmosphere on Friday afternoon (21th August, 2015) at the hall of the 3rd floor of the VJCC building. There were 24 students of FTU-K50 were awarded diplomas of the Foreign Trade University as well as the partner's certificate of the California State University, Fullerton, United States.

The ceremony was attended by closely business partners of Advanced Program in Business Administration as Ms. Dang Thi Mai Trang - Representative of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in VN, Mr. Le Mac Linh - Deputy Director of PepsiCo Suntory Vietnam, Mr. Lee Jong Kook - General Director of Lotte Center Hanoi, Ms. Nguyen Huyen Chi - Head of Human Resources and Change Management at General Motor Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc - Northern Sales Director of FPT Telecom, Ms. Phan Hong Nhung - Deputy Head of Workforce Planning & Human Resource Development of Vingroup, Ms. Pham Le Nguyen - President cum CEO of 5Desire,...
Moreover, the ceremony was honored with the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President of Foreign Trade University, Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Chau - Former President of Foreign Trade University, the Administrators and teachers of FTU.
Over 5 years of implementation, the Advanced Program in in International Business Management of FTU has achieved remarkable achievement. Up to 2015, there were 47 lecturers from the California State University, Fullerton and 7 foreign lecturers from Switzerland, Ireland, Singapore were participated in teaching subjects of the program at FTU. In order to enhance the quality of teaching, the program has been made five short-training on teaching method and scientific research to a total of 26 FTU's faculty members at the California State University, Fullerton in 5 weeks. Regarding international cooperation, in addition to achieving the cooperation agreement with CSUF which is the partner of the program, from 2012, FTU had signed an agreement allowing transfer subjects to the California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) so that students can get a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and have the opportunity to study Master in Business Administration (MBA) in the United States without a transition period. Subsequently, FTU also signed transfer subjects agreements with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), the Griffith University (Australia), the Minot State University (USA), open up many opportunities and choices for the students of the Advanced Program in International Business Management to obtain from famous foreign universities according to the 3 + 1 program with the most economical cost.

By far, the program has been enrolled 5 courses with a total of 350 outstanding students which were selected among the students passed an examination on FTU. In addition, the program also has the participation of international students from Germany, France, Japan, China ... with the number is constantly increasing over the years. The Advanced Program in International Business Management also focuses on promoting cooperation with other organizations and businesses to bring the best opportunities for students in the learning process and the career-oriented development, gets a chance to practice and work after graduation. In particular, the FTU students - course K50 have been participated in actual investigation at General Motor Vietnam company, Pepsico factory in Bac Ninh, Canon factory, factory of Ha Yen Join Stock company,.... Simultaneously, students of the Advanced Program in International Business Management also received many scholarships from private donors and businesses as ACCA Vietnam, ICAEW, FPT Telecom, Korea Exchange Bank (KEB), Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Summit Educations, CNR IELTS, Business - Mr. Tam Nguyen, Business - Mr Le Van Tuat, ...

There were 24 students of Advanced Program in International Business Management graduated this term, with 14 excellent students (58%), 9 students achieved very good grade (38%) and only one student achieved good grade (4%). Especially the student Mr. Truong Huy Hoang, with a GPA score of 3.96, has become a valedictorian of the course K50, FTU. Besides, the students also participated actively in extracurricular activities and achieved excellent results as Mr. Truong Huy Hoang - First Prize of Scientific Research Competition for student in 2014, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tho got the Second Prize and Mr. Nguyen Bao Tuan achieved the Third Prize of Kawai Business Start-up competition in 2014,...
The ceremony ended with the song "Goodbye" performed emotionally by a singing group. The Advanced Program in International Business Management K50 is the second excellent course, that has left many achievements to be proud of, the memorable memories, and especially, the teacher and student emotional as well as friendship are respectability.
International Exchange week to Welcome Students from University of Bedfordshire (United kingdom)
07 Sep 2015From 31st August to 08th September 2015, Faculty of International Education were happy to host 20 students and staff members from University of Bedfordshire (United Kingdom) to attend the International Exchange week at Foreign Trade University. 
With the aim to strengthen ties between two universities after 9 years of cooperation, the International Exchange Week brought about the opportunities for lecturers and students in both universities to meet up and exchange knowledge, discuss about several issues including history, culture and economic situations through various seminars and workshops at FTU. During the trip, students from University of Bedfordshire also got chances to visit enterprises in Vietnam as well as some famous tourism destination including Ha Long Bay (one of the World’s Wonders) and Sapa. 
Throughout the week, students from Faculty of International Education, Foreign Trade University also had the opportunities to communicate and present to foreign students about our country, people and Vietnamese Education. This is the basic ground to develop further friendship between the students from both universities. 
The international Exchange Week had brought about the memorable experience to students from University of Bedfordshire as well as great memory and friendship across the globe.

Kickoff symposium held to mark establishment of Kobe University Hanoi Liaison Base (7 September 2015)
07 Dec 2015On 7th September, 2015, an international symposium titled “Beyond AEC: Implications for ASEAN+6” was held at Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, Vietnam. This symposium, held 55 years after the founding of Foreign Trade University (FTU), commemorated the establishment of the new Kobe University Liaison Base in Hanoi.
FTU News: On 11th September, 2015, three Vietnam Universities has signed agreements with the Global Association for Finance Professionals, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) at UK – Vietnam Forum with the theme "Connecting Opportunities to Partnerships for Sustainability Education" that were convened in London.
The Vietnam-UK Forum under the theme “Connecting Opportunities to Partnerships for Sustainability Education” was organised on 11th September, 2015 in London by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Vietnamese Embassy with the support from the UK Higher Education International Unit (IU) and the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The forum was held to celebrate the 5th anniversary of establishment of the Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the UK.

The Foreign Trade University, the Academy of Finance, the DaNang University of Economics signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the participation of Deputy Minister of Education and Training - Mr. Bui Van Ga and senior representatives from Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and delegates from more than 80 universities in the UK and Vietnam.
The agreement between ACCA and the universities help graduated students to equip necessary skills when they work as well as provide an opportunity to experience at work environment.
Mrs. Helen Brand OBE, Chief Executive of ACCA , said: “These are landmark agreements for ACCA in Vietnam, where ACCA and the universities will jointly develop high-quality financial and accounting training programs. There is growing demand for professionally qualified accountants in Vietnam, and indeed the wider ASEAN economic region”.
Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Trong Co , Rector of Academy of Finance, said: "This collaboration not only supports students to have the opportunity to own the most prestigious profession diplomas but also improves their skills to meet the requirement of expertise worldwide. Thence, it opens the way for broader career and job opportunities not just in Vietnam but abroad as well. In this context, businesses are often looking for graduated students who are "ready to work". Today graduates are not just competing for jobs with counterparts from the university in their own country, but those from other countries especially within the wider ASEAN countries".
Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice President of Foreign Trade University, said: “Through this training program, students will be fully equipped with knowledge and practical skills platform in all areas of finance accountant and audit to become a finance specialist operating in the global environment".
Assoc Professor.Dr.Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice President from the DaNang University of Economics, added: “This is a step forward to upgrade the professional qualifications of University of Economics”.

“Through these agreements, ACCA will help graduated students to equip the knowledge and specialized skills in areas such as business management, leadership skills, strategic management, risk management, law business, financial reporting, tax, audit, and above all is professionalism and ethics to be ready to contribute to the development of the business ”. Ms. Le Thi Hong Len, Head of Mekong, ACCA concluded.
Reportedly, ACCA is the largest International Association of Professional Accountants & Auditors and the fastest growing of the world in the industry of Accounting - Auditing with nearly 455,000 students and 178,000 members in 183 countries around the world. In Vietnam, ACCA Vietnam was established in 2002.

The Opening Ceremony of Associate Training Bachelor Programs between FTU and three foreign universities
28 Nov 2015FTU News: On 28th September 2015, Foreign Trade University solemnly organized the Opening ceremony for 6th intake of the progression Bachelor in Finance between Foreign Trade University and Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College (Denmark) and 2nd intake of the progression Bachelor of Science in International Business and Bachelor of Science in Finance between Foreign Trade University and Minot State University (USA).
On 7th November 2015, Faculty of International Education, Foreign Trade University held the Thesis Oral Defense for 42 students in the 5th intake of the Joint Master Program in Business Administration.
FTU News: On November 16th, 2015, on the occasion of 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and New Zealand, the delegation from NZ government led by The Right Honorable James Bolger - Former Prime Minister of New Zealand had paid a visit to Foreign Trade University and congratulated its 55th anniversary.
The delegation from New Zealand Government includes: The Right Honorable James Bolger - Former Prime Minister of NZ, Prof Lester Khoo - Director, International Relations and Development, AUT University, Ms. Jane Tran - Vietnam Trusted Advisor, AUT University and senior staffs from Auckland University of Technology (NZ).

On the occasion of FTU's 55th anniversary, Auckland Technology University (New Zealand) and Foreign Trade University had signed the MoU on Developing Network of International Volunteers for teaching English in Northern Vietnam. This project is aimed to support Vietnamese pupils and students to practise and improve their English skills through direct communication with Native Speakers from AUT.

During the workshop, students had chance to raise the questions regarding to living style and studying environment in New Zealand. Besides, it is also the great opportunities for students to seek information related to scholarship offers from high-ranking NZ universities. Together with the enthusiastic consultant from partner universities, hopefully FTU students will find it helpful to choose the appropriate path way for themselves in the future.
