The scientific symposium was honored to welcome: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice President of FTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hoang Nam - Head of theScientific Management Department, Dr. Phung Duy Quang - Dean of the Basic Sciences Faculty, lectures of FTU.
In the opening session, Dr. Phung Duy Quang highlighted the outstanding results of the Faculty of Basic Sciences in the academic year 2016-2017 with four international newspaper articles including 1 ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) article and 1 Scopus article, 6 articles and reports which were published in Vietnam, presided over one theme of WTI/SECO, presided over 02 scientific research projects at the university level, hosted 03 strong research groups, inspected 04 textbooks and reference books, organized 02 scientific seminar. The mathematical - information technology and sport teams of FTU which participated in Olympiad competition also achieved high ranking. There were 35 articles that were published this time focus mainly in two areas of expertise: renewal of mathematics curriculum and the research results in the fields of mathematics, applied mathematics, information technology and physical education at FTU.
Subsequently, the scientific symposium entered the discussion with 5 outstanding presentations such as: "Open specialized - change comprehensively of the Basic Sciences Faculty" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Cuong, "Discuss the open proposal of applied mathematics in finance at FTU" by Dr. Phung Duy Quang, “Impact of US Cotton Subsidies on Exports of Cotton: Do the Cotton Dispute and the WTO Settlement Matter?” by Dr. Tong Lan Anh, "How to Modify a Style in Microsoft Word" by MSc. To Thi Hai Yen and "The key to control the body" by MSc. Vo Xuan Loc.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang highly appreciated the process of organizing the symposium, all the reports which were presented were very useful and had high scientific value. She also offers a variety of orientations to promote the faculty's teaching activities as well as scientific research activities to meet the requirement of innovation and development of the training majors of FTU.
The symposium ended successfully, opening up a clearer direction in teaching mathematics and promoting intensive research in mathematics, applied mathematics in economics, information technology and physical education at the Foreign Trade University.
