There were the presence of: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Vice President of FTU, Prof. Taiji Furusawa - Hitosubashi University, Japan.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Vice President of FTU gave an opening speech at the seminar. She warmly welcomed the delegates from countries in the region who came to attend this international conference. She said that in the context of globalization, the international economic integration and new generation of Free Trade Agreements has been increasingly complex, researchers, policymakers and the business community need a deeper understanding of the aspects and impact of trade on the economic development. The dynamic trade environment and trade policies around the world pose a requirement to all countries for better understanding of trade-related issues to act in a more timely and effective manner. Being one of the most positive economies in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is no exception. In the process of integration, Vietnam is also facing new opportunities and challenges. The Foreign Trade University was proud to be one of the most famous universities in Vietnam. It has been providing high quality human resources, deep research on trade and services to the government and business community to promote trade development.

The international conference has created a platform for all to share the research findings, exchange ideas, propose policies, build and connect the network of international trade and investment. The key issues which were discussed at the seminar including: Trade liberalization, tariff and non-tariff barriers, foreign direct investment (FDI), multinational transatlantic trade, social welfare, wages, Trade policies of the WTO, GATT, impact of the TPP agreement on FDI inflows, exchange rate fluctuations on the quality of export products, trade effects when China joined the WTO, employed foreign workers and domestic production networks, labor productivity and global value chains ...

After 2 days, the seminar ended successfully and left a deep impression on the participants.
