On March 17th, 2017, Foreign Trade University (FTU) organized the Workshop of University Rankings: Opportunities and Challenges.

The workshop had the presence of Professor John Molony - Vice President of Deakin University in Australia - Former Vice President of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

From FTU, there were the presence of: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President, Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Vice President and teachers of FTU.

The workshop attracted the participation of representatives from nearly 20 universities in Vietnam such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi Medical University, Trade Union University, Industrial University of HCM city, University of Transport and Communications, Vietnam University of Commerce, FPT University, Thai Nguyen University of Medical and Pharmacy, Hanoi University, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam,... and Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education and Training.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan - President made an opening remarks, he said that the rating evaluation was an important criterion in the process of FTU's integration of education. This activity was considered as the spearhead of the university management and we hoped that through this seminar, not only FTU but also other universities would have useful experiences This activity is considered as the spearhead of the management of the school and hope that through this seminar,Not only the Foreign Trade University that the participating schools will also have Useful experience in enhancing the prestige and the quality of training.

At the workshop, Professor John Molony shared the ratings content such as rating agencies, evaluation methods, and evaluation criteria of these organizations. In addition, he also made some suggestions for Vietnam universities in order to join the world university ranking system.

The representatives from Vietnam universities shared the opportunities and challenges of ranking universities in Vietnam and received good advice from Professor Molony.

This workshop is a valuable opportunity for universities to meet and share experiences towards an educational development and global integration.
